The pieces fit together quite well. The benefit of this is threefold: They keep a good diamond shape, it prevents other tastes from the freezer getting on the cubes, it prevents sublimation (the shrinking of cubes that are in the freezer for a while). These aren't huge cubes so they will fit in smaller whiskey glasses. Kit comes with a silicon funnel. It's easy to overfill which you can just break apart at the time you serve.I live alone, so I wanted to try these out. I love the ease of popping out the cubes and the design actually fits better in glasses. I will say that I make a mess filling these up compared to traditional trays. I like the idea of these and would recommend them. Just know what you're getting.Update: I have gone through 3 freezing cycles now. I feel that most of my issues were with me and not the product. Just make sure that you actually fill up all 4 compartments. I didn't initially and was left with 3 and a third ice cubes.They are way too small.
